MHS Soccer Preview

The Minot High boys soccer team will be looking to reload as it tries to repeat its state title from a year ago The Magicians return 7 players with varsity experience but will have to replace its leading goal scorer in Isaac Tengesdal as well as its goal keeper in Sam Love Magicians head coach Matt Pfau says it may take a few games for the team to come together as some younger players fill in Matt Pfau MHS soccer coach I think midfield will be our strength this year We return most of our midfielders We lost Isaac he was by far our best one but we return all of the other midfielders Defensively we have a little work to do and find some kids to play back there We re not gonna be as deep as last year but I think we can field 11 solid players to start every single game so depth might be a problem to start with but hopefully some of the young kids can step up and we can get some depth as the season goes along Brock Goossens midfield Right now we have two midfielders Nathan Christiansen and Alex Schwoll and we re moving them back into defense so we have a really fast defense and we still have a solid offense so Nathan Christiansen defense Once everyone gets back we should have a pretty decent team all around Like with Zach and Creighton in the middle and like me and Alex in back we should have a pretty good all around team I think The Magicians travel to Bismarck on Thursday for their west region opener with Century
