Bismarck Family May Have Been Hit by Tornado

A Bismarck family is still wondering what happened to them around 9 20 p-m Sunday while they were driving back from Minnesota on Interstate-94 Rick and Grace Baker were driving home with their two sons after a Soccer tournament and had no idea what was about to hit The family was driving between Fargo and Tower City when they started taking pictures from their car of a funnel cloud they spotted a few miles away That s when the Bakers noticed a few sprinkles started to fall and two weather fronts came together With almost no warningRick who was driving the vehicle lost all visibility He says it was like someone threw a while towel over the windshield Rick Baker Bismarck When the wind hit it would shake the car back and forth well you couldn t actually feel it lifting but it was shaking it You know the wind should take you one direction but it was shimmying it back and forth across the road Grace Baker Bismarck When we stopped and we could seehere we had a ditch on one sideyou know ground on one side and ground on the other side And it looked to be as though we were sitting in a cement culvert or something cement And I m thinking oh no this isn t good The Bakers say their vehicle has very little damage Rick says there is nothing to compare this experience to and they are thankful no one got hurt
