UND Switches Conference

They ve moved to Division One and now UND has officially moved into a new conference which is actually a new conference Today the Fighting Sioux announced that they re joining the Great West in 15 sports this Fall The Great West is expanding beyond Football and competition in track cross-country and Golf begins this coming school year with most other sports on-board the following year UND officials say membership came a lot sooner than expected Brian Faison I think initially the thought was when they UND went through the planning process for this transition was looking maybe three years down the road before realistically they thought that they might have the ability to get into a conference situation Five other schools nationwide are joining the Great West and one of them is a familiar foe in former NCC rival South Dakota UND is still looking for a conference for women s Soccer as well as swimming and diving Hockey will continue to compete in the WCHA
