BHS Soccer
Eight teams are in this year s State Soccer Tournament in Mandan and when it begins on Thursday perhaps no team will have as much momentum as Bismarck High That s because the Demons are the Co-WDA champions as well as the West Region Tournament Champions Bismarck High is also 5-0-1 in their last six games Mel Fischer We have a group of seniors that really want this and we are a pretty heavy senior-laden team and their goal early on was to get into the State Tournament as a high seed and they ve done that and they ve set their goals high so I think we have got the kids that are able to do it if they put the games together Despite their solid play the Demons say they have a few things they still need to work on Nate Ulness It has got its moments Yeah I feel that we playing very good but there are times where we have mental breakdowns that we need to fix a little bit Grant Horntvedt It feels good to win I guess and you want to go in with all your momentum so it is a good time to be playing your best The State Tournament begins with two days of Pool Play Bismarck High is in Pool A along with Fargo North Grand Forks Red River and Minot Meanwhile Century is in Pool B along with Fargo South Fargo Shanley and Jamestown The match-ups are as follows Century and Shanley kickoff the competition at 2 00 central time on Thursday afternoon and at the same time South and Jamestown will battle At 4 00 its Red River and Minot as well as Bismarck and North On Friday morning Shanley and Jamestown and South and Century start at 9 00 Then its Bismarck and Red River and North and Minot at 11 00 The action continues in the afternoon with Century and Jamestown and South and Shanley at 3 00 and finally its Red River and North and Bismarck and Minot at 5 00 Saturday is the day where champions will be crowned as well as third and fifth place
